Trinity and Sartana Sons of Bitches (Metheus Films, 1972)

.

.

aka Trinità e Sartana figli di…

.
.
This is a ‘comedy’ spaghetti western in which Trinity (so named because he comes from Trinidad, Harry Baird) and Sartana (a blond acrobat, Alberto dell’Aqua) get into ‘hilarious’ scrapes and defeat the baddies in ‘comic’ fights.

In America it couldn’t have such a title and so was called Trinity and Sartana Are Coming. I ask you. Actually the Italian title was more restrained – they used dots to avoid completing the phrase.

.
There is no connection at all with either the Trinity character or the Sartana one. Luckily. They just ripped off the names.

It’s far too long.

There’s the inevitable machine gun hidden in a piano.

There’s an old lady killer with three black-clad gunmen sons.

It’s dross.

  1. Hi Jeff. The director Mario Siciliano directed the first un-official Sartana film "Blood At Sundown" in 1967, in-which Gianni Garko first played Sartana. He then saw Garko go off and do the other Sartana films for rival producers. He was just gettin' even (and poking fun) for being ripped-off in the first place. 1. Hi Mike
      Thanks for your comment.
You are obviously a serious spaghettista. I know there are many fans out there.
I know I am generally a bit dismissive about the genre but it is true that the movies did at least contribute to a sort of revival of interest in the Western (and certain elements were re-engineered back into mainstream American Westerns).
For me, though, spaghettis are ABOUT Westerns rather than actually being Westerns.
      Still, each to his own!
      Jeff
